Welcome to MolDiag-PaCa

The Teaching course on the pathology of pancreatic tumors took place in Verona, on May 18th 2007 with 88 participants, 34 of which were not directly involved with MolDiagPaca:

In the last few years, new concepts regarding the histological and molecular subclassification of exocrine pancreatic tumors have been established. This short course, organized by experts in the field from the Pathology Departments at the Universities of Verona (Italy) and Kiel (Germany) as well as the Fundació IMIM, Barcelona (Spain), aimed at providing a review of these advances and an update with as much an emphasis in the pathological aspects as in the molecular alterations specifically associated with each tumour type. The short course wanted to address non-specialists who wish to keep abreast of pancreatic cancer molecular pathology.

The course covered the following program:

  • Where does the pancreas come from?
Cell lineage markers of the pancreas
Francisco X. Real, Fundació IMIM, Barcelona, Spain

  • Ductal adenocarcinoma
Günther Klöppel, University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, Kiel, Germany

  • Ductal type neoplasms
Giuseppe Zamboni, University of Verona, Italy

  • Non-ductal type neoplasms
Bence Sipos, University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, Kiel, Germany

  • Pheno/genotype correlations
Aldo Scarpa, University of Verona, Italy
